Woman credits God after she was saved from a storm

“I don’t have a scratch on me, and it’s only because of the grace of God that I’m here.”

Mary Pease of Missouri said as soon as she saw the storm approaching her Mount Pleasant home Wednesday May 22nd, she grabbed her pets and went to her safe place in the house.

It took seconds for life to be uprooted. Literally.

“It’s just the people and family in your life and your love that’s most important.”

The tornado ripped her home since 2006 from its foundation and threw it nearly 300 feet.

“It was just tumbling and tossing, but I didn’t feel like I was high up,” Pease said. “I didn’t know.”

What’s left of Pease’s house in Miller County is barely standing, and much of its contents are destroyed.

Though it’s a terrifying experience, Pease said she wasn’t scared.

“It’s all replaceable,” she said. “It’s just the people and family in your life and your love that’s most important.”

She said her recovery is long, but also has been overwhelmed by all those who have lended her a helping hand since the storm hit.
