The song has sparked controversy and spawned a clothing line. It got Billy Ray Cyrus a Maserati and has made Lil Nas X a household name.
Now, it seems, “Old Town Road” has inspired a nonverbal, autistic 4-year-old to sing.
On Tuesday, Minnesota mom Sheletta Brundidge tweeted about her family’s “#oldtownroad miracle.”
“Daniel went from humming to actually singing the lyrics.”
Cyrus retweeted Brundidge, but the Lithia Springs High School grad, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, responded with a tweet of his own.
“Old Town Road” quickly climbed the Billboard charts in April and gained national attention when Billboard removed it from the Hot Country Songs chart, declaring it not country enough.
The song has now spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and even broke the streaming record previously held by Drake.
