Meet the Austrian Vegetable Orchestra

For the past two decades, members of the Vienna based Vegetable Orchestra have been showcasing that vegetables are good for more than just their nutritional value, but also for their acoustic value.

Using vegetables such as onions, carrots, squash, pumpkins, and bell peppers, the ensemble pushes their produce from the farmers’ market prior to their concerts, where they then proceed to carve out their instrument in front of a live audience.

Once the performance is over, the groups cooks a healthy meal for themselves and their audience using the craps of the vegetables they carved.

Despite not currently performing because of the pandemic lockdown restrictions, the Vegetable Orchestra recently reunited over Zoom to perform a new single for their fans entitled, “Green Days.”
