Man Donates Baseball Cards to Girl Who Lost Her Collection

Like many residents of California, 9-year-old Reese Osterberg and her family were devastated by this year’s wildfires that resulted in the loss of their home.

A huge baseball fan, Reese was further devastated when her baseball card collection was also lost.

Reese started collecting baseball cards when she was just 6-years-old, and had amassed in three years slightly over 100 cards.

When the Fresno County Fire crew heard about the loss of Reese’s card collection, they decided to pitch in by spreading the word on Facebook asking for persons to help her rebuild her collection.

When San Jose’s Kevin Ashford saw the post on social media, he jumped into action. He told NBC Bay Area, “I got to thinking about what I had in the garage… I thought, you know, what if instead of selling them on eBay, I’m going to donate them. I’m gonna donate them all and put a smile on a little girl’s face.”

Now release has a card collection of more than 25000.
