In an effort to cultivate a positive relationship between the community and law enforcement, the City of Denver Police Department has launched a new initiative to assist motorists, minimize traffic violations, and promote safe driving practices.
To achieve this, when individuals are pulled over for having a broken tail light in the Mile High City, instead of being handed a ticket they will be given a $25 gift card to get the tail light fixed and a warning.
The gift cards were donated through a corporate partnership with Advance Auto Parts which has agreed to supply the Denver Police Department with one hundred $25 gift cards for the purpose of this project.
Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen said, “Working together is how we create stronger communities, and stronger communities are safer communities.”
