Cincinnati Duo Unites to Provide Gifts for Children in Single Parent Homes

Two Cincinnati friends worked hard to create positive Christmas experiences for families in their city. Jordynn Jenkins and her best friend, Skylar Beavers, started the non-profit ‘Make a Kid Merry,’ that provides holiday gifts and toys for children.

Both Jordynn and Skylar grew up in single parent households, both raised by their mothers.  The duo in partnership with friends from their local college and community were able to give away 50 children gifts in their community. They believe this is their way to “pay it forward” and offer support to other children in the community of single-parent homes that may be struggling during the holidays.

Jordynn told WCPO news, “We just wanted to be able to create a way to give back to our community.”
