Barbra Streisand buys George Floyd’s daughter Disney shares

Gianna Floyd is the youngest child of George Floyd, an African-American man who was killed by police in Minneapolis on May 25, sparking a series of protests and riots across the country against racism and police brutality.

Singer Barbra Streisand has made George Floyd’s daughter, a Disney shareholder. Gianna Floyd posted a picture of herself holding a Disney certificate on Instagram. “Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” she said in the post.

Kanye West has also financially supported Gianna by launching a college fund for Gianna to fully cover her eventual tuition. Texas Southern University also offered her a full-ride scholarship if she chooses to attend the school in the future.

It’s unclear how many shares Gianna received from Streisand. According to Yahoo Finance, shares of Disney stock currently go for $116.
